Updated: Nov 16, 2023

The magnificent historical building “Am Hof 2" in Vienna has undergone a miraculous transformation from a bank building into a luxury hotelPark Hyatt hotels captivate visitors with prime locations and they stand for discretion and contemporary elegance with a distinct regional connection.

They offer sophisticated living for travellers who appreciate personal attention, exceptional interior design details and exclusive meeting and event facilities. In-house art collections as well as excellent cuisine are further highlights of Park Hyatt Hotels. In the heart of the city, in the middle of Vienna's most exclusive shopping district, “Goldenes Quartier”, and only a few steps away from the world's greatest fashion houses, the Park Hyatt Vienna offers the ideal starting point to all the city's major sights, historical buildings and museums.

True luxury often reveals itself only at a second glance. In the case of the Park Hyatt Vienna, this initial discovery will be followed by many more admiring gazes. Because here, an architectural gem has been faithfully restored and revitalised with a great deal of heart and soul and a multitude of artisans.

"A special city deserves a special hotel," says Monique Dekker, hotel director at Park Hyatt Vienna. "No other hotel than the former Länderbank on Vienna's oldest square would be better suited to reawaken in new splendour and grant guests of this unique city lodging and lifestyle."

143 ROOMS RANGING IN SIZE FROM 35 TO 170 SQUARE METRES

With its 143 generously proportioned rooms, which range in size from 35 to 170 square metres and are among the largest in the city, the Park Hyatt Vienna combines luxury with Viennese elegance. Culinary delights include "The Bank Brasserie & Bar", the "Mixology Bar Living Room", the Viennese coffee house "Café Am Hof" and the "Lounge" in the lobby area. The 800-square-metre event area offers the perfect setting for conferences or private celebrations in historic rooms.

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR FOR THE VIENNESE BAR SCENE

The luxury hotel Park Hyatt Vienna is home to some exciting concepts for the city's connoisseurs. With the Living Room, which was modelled on a pharmacy for its décor, there is an additional treat for guests. Here one can allegedly get the best Manhattan in town.

The drinks menu has a lot to offer. The focus here is clearly on whisky, cocktails, but champagne and wines are also on the menu. The fine selection of spirits is also reflected in the cocktails. Creations such as the "Kyoto and Kentucky", the "Bravo, Charlie, Whisky" and the "Taste of Milano" are among the signature cocktails. However, bar manager Martin Holzer can conjure up something from any spirit, because he has no shortage of creativity. A real highlight is his "Irish Coffee". Those who know this classic will love it in the Living Room. Fine coffee is brewed gently with the help of a coffee siphon, accompanied by fine whisky and a delicate cream topping - pure pleasure, even if one is not a whisky lover.

The absolute favourite, however, is the Living Room Manhattan. "With this cocktail, the special nature of whisky becomes apparent to me; its complex notes and variables are particularly noticeable when enjoying this drink," says Martin Holzer. He continues: "The bar scene has gained a real gem with the Living Room. I'm looking forward to creating an exceptional experience for our guests, making the Living Room one of the best bars in town."

UNIQUE SPA SPACE IN A FORMER BANK VAULT @ PARK HYATT VIENNA

Where gold and banknotes were once stored, an oasis of calm now invites guests to relax and recharge their batteries. In the Arany Spa of the Park Hyatt Vienna, housed in the former vaults of the bank building, visitors are immersed in a sensual world of fragrances, aromas, music and gentle beauty treatments, surrounded by a luxurious ambience of gold, mother-of-pearl and precious woods on 1,000 square metres. As a tribute to the golden past of the time when the hotel was still a bank, the three-ton original steel door from Wertheim was left in place. The ambience with mother-of-pearl and natural gold also wants to be seen as a reference and lends the Arany Spa its particularly elegant touch.

COMMENT:

The Park Hyatt in Vienna is a restored former bank building, beautifully decorated and centrally located. The staff is very hospitable. The rooms are huge, if you want them to be. The food at the hotel inn described as "wonderful" in most reviews, the spa/gym is spacious, and the amenities and service are excellent. The special feature of the hotel: it is located in the middle of the most exclusive shopping district of the city, in the so-called "Golden Quarter" of Vienna.
