For the record sum of 1,452,000 pounds (equivalent to 1.68 million euros), a bottle of Macallan whiskey from 1926 has been auctioned at the London auction house Sotheby's. The hammer for this luxurious single malt fell on October 24, 2019. Since then, the whisky distilled in 1926 and bottled in 1986 from cask number 263 in only 40 bottles is the most expensive in the world.
